What is The Grief Recovery Method and how is it different from therapy?

Therapy can be an ongoing process that may last indefinitely while the person processes their grief with their therapist.

Unlike therapy, The Grief Recovery Method is a 7 week program for anyone who has suffered pain from the loss of a relationship. It is a practical and systematic method that teaches specific tools and skills to release the pain of loss.

These tools can be used over and over again in the future for any loss. It is an evidence based, action-oriented method that has helped millions of people over the last 40 years.

What if I don’t feel ready?

Grieving people do not lack courage or willingness. What they lack is proper information with which to discover and complete what has been left emotionally unfinished by the death or loss of someone important in their lives.

We will discuss your indiviuaI experiences in an initial consultation to determine if you are in a place to make this journey. I will be by your side every step of the way.

What will the end result be?

You will slowly but surely begin to experience memories without having them turn painful. You will begin to acknowledge that it is perfectly allright to feel sad from time to time. Most importantly, you will acquire the skills necessary to allow you to deal with loss directly and release you from the bondage of negative feelings that are holding you back.
